Thank you for your interest in becoming a Volunteer with the Central Calaveras Fire and Rescue Protection District.  Central Fire protects the communities of Mountain Ranch, Sheep Ranch, Glencoe, and Railroad Flat in Calaveras County.

Before you fill out the application packet we feel you should understand clearly just how important and demanding the job of a Volunteer with Central Fire really is.

As a Volunteer you may be called out at any time of day or night to work long hours in difficult, sometimes dangerous conditions.

Central Fire has opportunities for Volunteer Firefighters who respond to all type of Emergency Calls (Fires, Vehicle Accidents, and Medical Aids) as well as Water Tender Driver / Operators.

Central Fire also utilizes Firefighter Support volunteers who assist Central Fire when the daily resources are exceeded and help by providing medical and rehabilitation support at fires.  Firefighter Support members support Calaveras County Emergency Services in a variety of ways.  These support functions allow volunteers of all fitness levels and physical abilities to assist.

All Volunteers must complete Initial Orientation Training before responding to emergency calls and must complete additional training for their position and continuing in-service training to maintain proficiency.
