MINUTES

Meeting: 10 October 2002

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:31 p.m.

Roll Call: Jim Ingham, Don Leach, John Logg, Michael Spadoni, Chief Gill and AC Sharon Villanueva.

Introduction of Guests: None

Public Comments: None

Director Spadoni made a motion to approve the September 12 2002 minutes. Director Leach seconded. (4-0-0)

Director Leach made a motion to approve the September 19 2002 special meeting minutes. Director Spadoni seconded. (4-0-0)

Old Business:

A. Director Logg made a motion to approve the transmittal for the down payment and the payment for the extra options on the new fire engine. Director Leach seconded. (4-0-0)

New Business:

A. Director Leach made a motion to accept the letter of resignation from Director Soria. Director Spadoni seconded. (4-0-0)

B. Director Spadoni made a motion to proceed with filling the board vacancy by placing an ad in the Calaveras Enterprise, The Daily News, West Point News and the Miners Pick. The last date to accept letters of interest will be November 8, 2002 at 5 p.m. Director Logg seconded. (4-0-0)

C. Director Spadoni made a motion to accept the 2001-2002 Financial Audit as written. Director Leach seconded. (4-0-0)

D. Director Spadoni made a motion to approve the refund on the special tax accessed on the following mineral rights parcels: Parcel Numbers 036-408-002, 036-401-002, 038-403-003, 020-428-003 & 020-427-006. Owners of parcel numbers 036-401-001, 036-401-002, 038-403-003 and 020-427-006 will get a refund check. Parcel numbers 036-408-002 and 020-428-003 tax will be disbursed back to the county. Director Leach seconded. (4-0-0)

Directors Reports:

Director Ingham: Possibility of getting all or some of the materials donated to the district to fix Station #3. Will let the board know.

Director Spadoni: The board needs to research the possibility of merging with Mokelumne Hill Fire District. Discussion. No action.

Director Leach: Would be interested in becoming a member in the committees that Director Soria has vacated. A reorganization of all the committees will be done when the board gets a new board member.

Director Logg: Director Soria will be missed by everyone in the district especially the District Board of Directors.
