Meeting:                                                13 September, 2001

 

Call to Order:                        The meeting was called to order at 6:37 p.m.

 

Roll Call:                                Mike Spadoni, Jim Ingham,  Don Leach, Allen Sender, Interim Fire Chief Phil Soria and AC                                                                Sharon Villanueva.  Absent Sarah Hart.

 

Introduction of Guests:       None

 

Public Comments:               None     

 

Director Ingham made a motion to approve the minutes of the 9 August, 2001 regular meeting of the board.  Director Leach seconded.  (4-0-1)

 

New  Business:                     None

 

Old Business:        

A.                  Discussion on a letter received from the County Elections Office regarding November elections selections process.  The Board of Supervisors will make two appointments to fill the vacancies on the Board of Directors due to no filings for the vacancies during the recent nomination period.  The Board of Supervisors is asking anyone interested in serving on the Board that they fill out an enclosed application and submit it to Calaveras County Elections Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on October 5,2001.  The Board of Directors will also publicize this in the local papers.

                                B.             Director Sender motioned to approve the contract with The Payroll People, Inc. to process the                                                          districts’ payroll.  The cost is $69.00 a pay period with a one time set up fee of $216.00 beginning the                                                first payroll in October.  Director Leach seconded.  (4-0-1)

 

Director Spadoni:  None

Director Ingham: Station #4 bathroom is complete.

Director Leach:     Compliments to all the firefighters for all the hard work they have done at the fires. 

Director Sender:   None     

Special Committees:

                Public Relations Committee:   No information at this time.

                Finance Committee:  No information at this time.

Financial: 

                A.            Director Ingham made a motion to accept the 13 September, 2001 transmittal.  Director Leach seconded.  (4-0-1)

                B.             Director Sender made a motion to accept the 2001/02 Budget.  Director Ingham seconded.  (4-0-1)

Correspondence:  Grand Jury Report response letter from the District was reviewed.

Adjournment to closed session at 7:47 p.m.

Report of actions taken:

                A.            Date set for fire chief interviews will be 29 September, 2001.
